サド ~ Sally

I have not much to say this time. 「サド」 will probably be the last song I’ll translate from Sadomasochism (well, not that there are a lot left) but unless someone request them, I’ll probably won’t do it, at least not anytime soon -even if I might change my mind, IZNA grew up in me a lot.

Chata is as always amazing. To be honest, she became my favorite singer together with Merami. But, as always, she has such difficult lyrics. Just to say, most of the time the lyrics she sings are something enough mind blown to let me wonder why someone should writing such lyrics (yeah, I’m complaining; I had hard time understanding this song, and I still haven’t understood it. But guess I’ll give up, uh-uh).

What else to say? I’m not a big fan of Mamizou, nor I particulary like her theme. But even if, I enjoyed this song; after all, “Sadomasochism”, while not being as good as “Sally”, is still pretty strong, and some parts among the various songs are truly amazing.

I think I forgot some important notes; or maybe I’m saying this because I didn’t understand this song. Whatever.

Notes

I’m not sure how to read this song. Somehow, to me it’s like Mamizou found someone (a human?) who caught her attention, but this person is scared, or doesn’t want to stay/talk with her due to his family/friends/whoever -my bet is on the “scared” option, following the first part of this song. I don’t think this time the relationship is something beyon the simple friendship -I don’t even think there’s a sign of friendship, but still.
Anyway, I’m saying this because I have no idea on how to reading some phrases, and since for me it’s clear the meaning behind this song, it may look a little -lot- messy. So, try to be flexible.
Last thing: there are quite a lot references to Mamizou’s profile in this text, so you might want to read it before reading this.

サド | Sado”;  the title in this case has a double reference. Both are pretty obvious, but still. The first is, of course, a reference to Mamizou’s theme, “Futatsuiwa from Sado”, with the only difference that in the original title, “Sado” is spelling with kanjis, while here’s written in katakana. The second one is, again, of course, a reference to the album title, “Sadomasochism”. Anyway, the reason I’m saying this, is mainly because “Sado” is essentially the opposite term of “Sadomasochism”. In fact, “Sado” could stands as an abbreviation for “Sadist” ot “Sadism”, ence the antonysm.
転がし手の中で踊らせる | What’s left inside of my hands, manipulated”; literal, “I manipulate what’s left inside of my hands”. This is a reference to Mamizou’s power, even if it’s not clear what she “manipulates” here -or I’m not able to grasp it.
キミが残した 魔除けの合図 | You left behind an amulet’s sign”; I have no clue about this. To be honest, at a first glance,  I thought it was  a reference to Mamizou’s name; but when reading it again, I realized it was actually a “method” to counter her. 「魔除け」 are charms against evil spirits, and I think this is something people (more likely) used against her. But aside this, I have no idea what it could refears to.
掴まえた数 数え | I caught the number… my age”; here the lyrics are saying something like “I caught it, that number, the number of my age”. 「数え」 is a method to count one’s age, an old one -I won’t explain explain how it works. The interesting part of this phrase is that 「数」, while here has the meaning of “number/amount” due to its pronunciation, with another spelling it can means even “destiny/fate”. So, when reading this, you can interpretated it as “I caught my/the destiny”.

サド ~ Sally

ヒトすら遊ぶ
騙しと云う歓迎を
差し出して
転がし手の中で踊らせる

hito sura osobu
damashi to yui kangei wo
sashidashite
korogashi te no naka de odoraseru

I play even with humans
Saying it’s a trick, and a welcome
I hold out
What’s left inside of my hands, manipulated

キミが残した 魔除けの合図

kimi ga nokoshita mayoke no aizu

You left behind an amulet’s sign

いつからか握る
その指 心 刺さる
叶わぬ願いなのに
繰り返して罠をかける

itsukaraka nigiru
sono yubi kokoro sasaru
kanawanu negai nanoni
kurikaeshite wana o kakeru

Since when I’m grasping them?
These fingers, that heart; I’m stuck.
Desires don’t come true, but even so
They repeat, hiding snares.

ヒトから見える
不確かな存在を
差し出して転がせよう
閃きの あいであ

hito kara mieru
futashikana sonzai o
sashidashite kururi ga seyou
hirameki no aidea

I can see from people
An uncertain existence;
Let’s hold out, let’s leave
The flair’s ideas

キミが忘れてしまわないように

kimi ga wasurete shimawanai youni

So that you won’t never completely forget

流れる星なら
解ってくれるだろうと
掴まえた数 数え
100を越えてキミを変える

nagareru hoshi nara
wakatte kureru darou to
tsukamaeta kazu kazoe
100 o koete kimi o kaeru

If a star flows
Then, I’ll probably understand.
I caught the number… my age
I passed through one hundred years, changing you.

あの日残った 魔除けの合図

ano hi nokotta mayoke no aizu

That day was left an amulet’s sign

いつからか握る
その指 心 刺さる
叶わぬ願いなのに
繰り返して罠をかける

itsukaraka nigiru
sono yubi kokoro sasaru
kana wanu negai nanoni
kurikaeshite wana o kakeru

Since when I’m grasping them?
These fingers, that heart; I’m stuck.
Desires don’t come true, but even so
They repeat, hiding snares.

この形 変えて
そのまま 全て触れる
叶わぬ 願い 無いと
罠をかけた 嘘だらけ

kono katachi kaete
sono mama subete fureru
kana wanu negai naito
wana o kaketa uso darake

This shape, changes,
Without changing; I feel it entirely.
Desires, they mustn’t come true.
They were hidden snares; it’s all a lie.

空に流れる星から
笑ってくれるだろうと・・・
そう キミが泣く事だって
気付きながら 抑えれない

sora ni nagareru hoshi kara
waratte kureru darou to…
sou kimi ga naku koto datte
kidzuki nagara osaerenai

In the sky, a star flows;
I wonder why it makes me smile…
Really, after all you’re crying
As long as you’re aware, you can’t stop.

・・・許して。

…yurushite.

…forgive me.
