dandelion ~ a song for…

This song is truly beautiful.
I fell in love with this album since the first time I listened to the crossfade, and I have to say: it’s beautiful.

“dandelion” is, in my opinion, what makes this demo CD (because, even if it’s not writte, it’s a demo) better than the majority of the C81’s CDs. I’d recommend “song for…” to everyone who wants to listen to something different -original- and likes metal.

The screams here are just a few compared to “only for us”, and the true star is IZNA. Her voice fits so much this song, expecially the lyrics. I really love what spetsnaz made here, since usually he does scream-only arrangements.

Anyway; aside this -which I’ve basically already said on “only for us”- “dandelion” is one of those songs where the title is beyond the perfection. I don’t know how many of you actually know the meaning of the Dandelion, so I’ll simple explain this.

In the language of flowers, the meaning of the Dandelion is happiness and faithfulness. Once you know this, you know the meaning of this song. Once in a while, is so great to translate this kind of songs, they made the world just right.

The pic is pretty much random, but I like it, and I think it fits the song. And I wanted a pic with Dandelions in it.

Notes

In this song there are some words which are written with certain kanjis, but read with a completely different pronunciation. Overall, the meanings merge, so it’s truly not a big deal (there are just subtle differences actually). For the translation, I kept the word said in the song, but since, as I said, both the words mean the same things, it’s truly not that important. Anyway, I’ve kept  in the romanjis the reading of those kanjis “omitted”, so if you see something “strange”, you know what’s that.

Also, expecially in the last stanza, the meaning of the screams is very close to the lyrics, with only slightly differences; but since I’m doing a translation, I decided to actually translating everything which is in japanese. Just to say.

広がる黄沙 / 緑に染め上げて往く | I reach the yellow sand, / finished dyeing with green”; even if this phrase sounds awfully odd, it’s actually what’s written. The sense of this is actually more clear if you consider the scream “turn the whole desert into a field of dandelions”. So well, read this as if the yellow sand is the desert, and the green is the grass. I could’ve translated this directly as “desert” and “grass”, but I love metaphors.
光の(鱗粉)―つぶ― | In the seeds of light”; of course, “Seeds of light” is a reference to Dandelion’s seeds, the same carried by the wind in the desert some stanzas ago.
砂漠の孤独な花でも たった一人 | There’s still a flower in the solitude of desert, merely alone”; I decided to translate in this way to have a more clear sentece, but the japanese text says “The desert’s solitude flower” which is suggestive, but quite redundant considering the phrase structure -phrase which is already enough redundant.
信じれる一人じゃない | I believe I’m not alone”; I’m not sure if  「信じる」 can means also “realize”, but here I was really tempted to copy-paste what the scream’s saying “I realize I’m not alone”. Anyway, the point of this note is that the verb is at its potential form, but since it’s pretty much awfull writing it in this case, I’ve kept the present form. Japanese text actually says “I can believe I’m not alone”.

dandelion ~ a song for…

砂漠の孤独な花でも たった一人
愛してくれる人がいる
ずっと傍にいて 永久に (forever)

sabaku no kodoku na hana demo tatta hitori
aishitekureru hito ga iru
zutto soba ni ite towani (forever)

There’s still a flower in the solitude of desert, merely alone.
That person is giving his love to me.
He will stay near me forever, in the eternity.

綿毛の種は風に
運ばれ 遠い砂漠
落ちてしまったけど

watage no tane wa kaze ni
hakobare tooi sabaku
ochiteshimatta kedo

Fluffy seeds, in the wind,
are carried, in the distant desert.
However, they’re falling down.

そこで君という光に 出会えたから
いつの(瞬間)―とき―も 信じれる一人じゃない
(I realize that I am not alone)

soko de kimi toiu hikari ni deaeta kara
itsu no (shunkan)―toki―mo shinjireru hitori janai

You say we could’ve met there, in the light
When, in that moment, I believe I’m not alone.

砂漠の孤独な花でも たった一人
愛してくれる人がいる
ずっと傍にいて 永久に

sabaku no kodoku na hana demo tatta hitori
aishitekureru hito ga iru
zutto soba ni ite towani

There’s still a flower in the solitude of desert, merely alone.
That person is giving his love to me.
He will stay near me forever, in the eternity.

果てしなく 広がる黄沙
緑に染め上げて往く この身賭してでも
(paint this world with blood, if I sacrifice myself for you)

hateshinaku hirogaru kousa
midori ni someagete iku kono mi toshite demo

Eternally, I reach the yellow sand,
Finished dyeing with green; is something myself risks.

愛は(惑星)―ほし―に満ちていく 光の(鱗粉)―つぶ―
つかんだその手を 離さずに抱きしめて
(I feel euphoric all the time in your arms)

ai wa (wakusei)―hoshi―ni michite iku hikari no (rinpun)―tsubu―
tsukanda sono te wo hanasazu ni dakishimete

Love rises in a star, in the seeds of light
I lay in your arms, when we embrace, when we separate.

砂漠の孤独な花でも たった一人
愛してくれる人がいる
ずっと傍にいて 永久に

sabaku no kodoku na hana demo tatta hitori
aishitekureru hito ga iru
zutto soba ni ite towa ni

There’s still a flower in the solitude of desert, merely alone.
That person is giving his love to me.
He will stay near me forever, in the eternity.

(nothing lasts forever, but our love is forever)

砂漠の孤独な花でも たった一人
愛してくれる人がいる
ずっと傍にいて 永久に (forever)

sabaku no kodoku na hana demo tatta hitori
aishitekureru hito ga iru
zutto soba ni ite towa ni (forever)

There’s still a flower in the solitude of desert, merely alone.
That person is giving his love to me.
He will stay near me forever, in the eternity.

最後にあなた腕の中 眠りにつく
(at last I fall asleep in your arms)
何も怖くはない
(have no fear)
これからは ずっと一緒だから
(we’re not alone, we will never be alone forever)

saigoni anata ude no naka nemuri nitsuku
nanimo kowaku wa nai
sorekara wa zutto issho dakara

In the end, in your arms, I fall asleep.
Don’t be afraid;
After this, we’ll be together, forever.

(turn the whole desert into a field of dandelions)
(stay with me forever, never leave my side)

  1. Thanks for the lyrics, I get addicted to this song so easily. :3

  2. Where would one find a download for this album? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

    • Probably on MelonbooksDL, but I’m not sure and you need a guide/to know a little of Japanese. Or you can check if it’s on iTunes, some artists put their songs there. Maybe you can get one of the songs (I don’t remember which one) directly from the official site since they made a full PV on Youtube/NicoNico for that song.

      • Official site no longer exists it seems, sadly. CD is out of stock on Melonbooks too. Is a shame, love this song so much.

      • Just realized both songs have been uploaded on YouTube by the artist himself. Anyway… I believe you have no other choice beside finding a YouTube to Mp3 site and grab the Mp3 in that way

Free download here for anyone looking for it.
