幽し者へ ~ UNDEAD CORPORATION

Maybe, finally, the lyrics are right, since in UNDEAD CORPORATION’s TOHO COMPLETE BOX this song’s lyrics were within and –hopefully- this time they are correct. Though I think I preferred the misprinted version with “川へと変わるでしょう”, where they spelled out Prismriver in a creative way. I guess they had to change the lyrics due to rhythmic, so it can’t be helped~ Revised today, the 24th November 2016.

Probably the first song I’ve ever wanted to translate, but never done before maybe because I wanted to have enough “experience” to do a translation which would have given justice to this awesome song. And now here I am. This song means so much to me, for a lot of reasons I won’t explain; I really hope I’ve caught every aspect of its meaning and beauty.

Well, I guess I’ll stop already this brief “description”, since I will probably only repeat myself. If you haven’t listen to this awesome album by UNDEAD CORPORATION… Well, do it right now, you won’t regret.

Notes

幽し者へ | For you, fleeting”; in romaji “kasokeshi mono e”. Or  “yuushi mono e”, depending on if you want to pick the adjective reading or the verb reading. I really love how Pine decided to use an archaic word such as “幽し” just to recall the original title, “幽霊楽団 ~ Phantom Ensemble” –or at least, this is what I want to believe. Oh, by the way, I’ve edited the title’s translation because this one is more “feels”. At first I wanted to put it as “For a fading person”, keeping the JP structure. But well, I’m done in this way.

幽し者へ

太陽の熱が届かない
闇の中手探りで歩く
そう全ては飛び散った後で
もうこの先には何ひとつ無い

taiyou no netsu ga todokanai
yami no nakate saguri de aruku
sou subete wa tobichitta atode
mou kono saki ni wa nani hitotsu nai

The sun’s heat won’t get through
As I fumble within darkness
Once everything will scatter
Nothing will be left here

遥かな未来がこの手からすり抜けていく

haruka na mirai ga kono te kara surinukete iku

The distant future is slipping through my hands

幻想の土に還るその前に
最後のレクイエム聴かせて
流れる涙はプリズムとなって
光輪の彼方へ

gensou no tsuchi ni kaeru sono saki ni
saigo no reikuiemu kikasete
nagareru namida wa purizumu to natte
kourin no kanata e

Before I go back to the land of illusions
Listen to my last requiem
Shed tears will turn into a prism
Beyond the nimbus

月の冷たさも感じはしない
闇の中ひたすらに走る
そう全ては飛び散った後で
行く手を阻むものさえ無い

tsuki no tsumetasa mo kanji wa shinai
yami no naka hitasura ni hashiru
sou subete wa tobi chitta ato de
yuku te wo habamu mono sae nai

I can’t even feel the moon’s coldness
I can just run within darkness
Once everything will scatter
It will never obstruct my way

騒めく世界はに次第遠のいて行くわ

sawameku sekai wa ni shidai toonoite yuku wa

This noisy world will soon become distant

輝く星の煌きを持たない
わたしの願いを聞き届けて
永遠の睡り訪れた後に

kagayaku hoshi no kirameki wo motanai
watashi no negai wo kikitodokete
eien no nemuri otozureta ato ni

I don’t have the light of a shining star
But please, grant my wish
Once I’ll visit the eternal sleep

新たな世界へ

arata na sekai e

Into a new world

幻想の土に還るその前に
最後のレクイエム聴かせて
流れる涙はプリズムとなって
光輪の彼方へ

gensou no tsuchi ni kaeru sono saki ni
saigo no reikuiemu kikasete
nagareru namida wa purizumu to natte
kourin no kanata e

Before I go back to the land of illusions
Listen to my last requiem
Shed tears will turn into a prism
Beyond the nimbus

彼方へ
彼方へ・・・

kanata e
kanata e…

Beyond
Beyond…
