Ensemble for Phantom Aeropolis ~ Pizuya’s Cell

Updated the 11/10/2012

This song is simple beautiful. It’s my favorite from CORONeT, probably because I like a lot the original theme –and Taka made me love it. Probably I won’t find an arrange equal to the perfection of CROW’SCLAW’s Mystery Metropolis, but still, this one has been able to almost make me shed a tear when reading the lyrics, and totally caught my attention.

I believe it’s the first time I seriously listen to something sang by Mei Ayakura –I don’t really count songs outside my genre such as those done with Syrufit. But well, this comiket brought me quite a lot song performed by her, and I really like the result –now I pretend more Pizuya’s Cell feat. Mei Ayakura… hoping it’ll be done in an “Merciless Lazuli Rose” style album.

I think I fell in love with Mei’s way of writing lyrics here; they’re so clean (and thanks God Miko, clear), carrying a so innocent, yet sad, meaning. I was pretty surprised on discovering how elaborated are all the rhetorical figures, and how at the same time they’re so simple. Somehow, I had this feeling of reading words written by the hand of a child too mature for his age –and if it wasn’t that there aren’t related pic, I’d gladly used a pic by Giselebon for this post.

Well, I think it’s all for now. Pizuya’s Cell really did something this comiket, even though not at the level of “Merciless Lazuli Rose”. I hope you’ll enjoy these incredible great lyrics.

Kinda requested; anyway *shot*

Notes

花は染まる | Flowers are dyed”; the second part of the phrase, “until they’ll fade”, is referred to the color (of flowers) rather than to the flowers themselves. It might have been a good choice translating it as “until their colors will fade”, but I wanted to keep the “essential” structure that’s in Japanese.
熱を放つ | Heat is keep released”; literally, “I/you/someone/something releases/emits heat”. Considering how “enigmatic” is the Japanese text, I’ve preferred put it in a different construction –as for me, the literal one is sounds pretty odd.
時を駆ける | Time goes on”; pretty much like the previous note. Literally, this means “I go through/advance against time”, phrase that I’ve personally read as “I keep living, but one day I’ll meet my end”. Thus, my reason to put “Time” as subject, which I believe it betters expresses the “Time passes by and can’t be stopped” thing.
朝も昼も夜も | Morning, afternoon, and night”; here the phrase is more simple than how it seems in my *bad* translation. The overall meaning is really “Morning, afternoon and night keep passing by, silently (lit.: spread in silence), kindly replacing (each other)”, but the verb used is blatantly in contrast with “kindly”. Thus my attempt to keep it in English, even if the result is quite… odd.
還らない想い | Souls that don’t come back”; literally, it’s “Feelings that don’t come back”. Even if among all the possible meanings, “想い” doesn’t have the one of “soul” (but has the one of “heart” in a figurate way), I believe that translating it in this way is much more related to the context that every other meaning.
愛しいろはの歌紡ぐ | As I recite”; well, after too much time I decided to fix this. And maybe I should revise also the whole translation. Anyway. “Iroha” is a Japanese poem for which I leave every explanation to the Wikipedia, and it’s totally appropriated for a 天空の花の都 arrangement IMO.

Ensemble for Phantom Aeropolis

色は香る 散りゆくまで
花は染まる 褪せゆくまで
熱を放つ 燃えゆくまで
時を駆ける 最期まで

iro wa kaoru chiriyuku made
hana wa somaru aseyuku made
netsu wo hanatsu moeyuku made
toki wo kakeru saigo made

Colors bloom; until they’ll fall part
Flowers are dyed; until they’ll fade
Heat is keep released; until it’ll burn
Time goes on; until my last breath

深く深く 茂る
森を行けば 華やかに
瞳閉じて 願う
無常憂う 明くる時
浅く浅く 夢見
何れ覚めて 忘れゆく

fukaku fukaku shigeru
mori wo ikeba hanayaga ni
hitomi tojite negau
mujou ureu akuru toki
asaku asaku yumemi
idzure samete wasureyuku

In the depths, they’re in full leaf
If you proceed into the forest, in its beauty
You’ll only wish to close your eyes
Uncertainty grieves me, following the time
For just a moment, I had a dream
But when I’ll wake up, I’ll forget about it

朝も昼も夜も静寂広がり
優しく包んで
眠り落ちて花は何処そのまま
色は匂えど
春も夏も秋も冬も幾度と
流るこの身も
魂も離れ散らす涙現へ
いつか廻ろう

asa mo hiro mo yoru mo shijima hirogari
yasashii tsutsunde
nemuri ochite hana wa izuko sonomama
iro wa nioedo
haru mo natsu mo aki mo fuyu mo ikudo to
nagaru kono mi mo
tama mo hanarechirasu namida utsutsu e
itsuka megurou

Morning, afternoon, and night, they all pass by silently
And kindly engulf each other
I sleep where flowers are falling down like always
Though their colors are still bright
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter; how many more times
Will they flown into this body?
My soul disappears too, and scatters into conscious tears
Someday will come back…

“ねえ起きて”と囁く
小さな蕾は
確かに息づいている
耳を澄ましてる

“nee okite” to sasayaku
chiisana tsubomi wa
tashikani ikidzuiteiru
mimi wo sumashiteru

“Hey, wake up” she whispers
The small bud
Is surely breathing now
Just listen carefully

“ねえ起きて”と囁く
還らない想い
咲きほころぶ夢の色
愛しいろはの歌紡ぐ

“nee okite” to sasayaku
kaeranai omoi
saki hokorobu yume no iro
itoshi iroha no uta tsumugu

“Hey, wake up” she whispers
Souls that don’t come back
Start to bloom in the colors of dreams
As I recite my dear Iroha poem

言葉はもう いらないから
想いの種 届けたから
凍える空 晴れてくから
流れに身を まかせましょう

kotoba wa mou iranai kara
omoi no tane todoketa kara
kogoeru sora hareteku kara
nagare ni mi wo makasemashou

Since there are no more words
Since my seed of feelings didn’t arrive
Since the chilly sky is sunny
I’ll entrust myself into this flow

“ねえ咲いて”と囁く
その時は来た、と
恐れることはないから
目を背けないで

“nee saite” to sasayaku
sono toki wa kita, to
osoreru koto wa nai kara
me wo somekenaide

“Hey, bloom” she whispers
The time has come, and
Since there’s nothing to be afraid of
Don’t avert your eyes

“ねえ咲いて”と囁く
想いは消えない
新たに明ける空へと
鳥の鳴く歌を

“nee saite” to sasayaku
omoi wa kienai
arata ni akeru sora e to
tori no naku uta wo

“Hey, bloom” she whispers
The feelings won’t disappear
Towards the new opened sky
The bird’s sing became a song

“ねえ起きて”と囁く
小さな蕾は
確かに息づいている
耳を澄ましてる

“nee okite” to sasayaku
chiisana tsubomi wa
tashikani ikidzuiteiru
mimi wo sumashiteru

“Hey, wake up” she whispers
The small bud
Is surely breathing now
Just listen carefully

“ねえ起きて”と囁く
還らない想い
咲きほころぶ夢の色
愛しいろはの歌紡ぐ

“nee okite” to sasayaku
kaeranai omoi
saki hokorobu yume no iro
itoshi iroha no uta tsumugu

“Hey, wake up” she whispers
Souls that don’t come back
Start to bloom in the colors of dreams
As I recite my dear Iroha poem
