[GSS] Day 01 – Part 04.04e

It’s none of my business – Misono’s path

He couldn’t be helped but wandering around the corridor. Kyouji, after some time, went back to classroom.
Akane was cleaning the blackboard from end to end. He went back to his seat.
Without realized it, Kyouji looked at the back of the classroom. Kiika was sitting alone at the end of the line, reading a book.
The subordinates of the guy Shinta called Sadashima, as well as some classmates he didn’t remember well right next to him, were looking at Kiika. It bothered Kyouji.
Misono~, hey, let’s go to karaoke this Sunday. Sadashima senpai will treat you well.”
You are super popular, and senpai is handsome, so just go.”

Kyouji
(What’s their plan by bringing her in such place?)
He had an awfully unpleasant feeling. As he examined the situation, Kiika looked at them and smiled.

Kiika
“I’m sorry. I was reading and didn’t hear you. What did you say?”
What, you didn’t hear us? This Sunday, come to karaoke with――”

Kiika
“I’m sorry. I’m not interested into karaoke. Besides, I already have plans for this Sunday. I’m going on a trip with my parents.”
After that, the conversation dropped. Kiika lowered her gaze on the book.

Kyouji
(She totally rejected them.)
Well, he thought it was better in that way.
He shook his shoulders, stifling a laugh. It was a pretty familiar scene to him.
Even in his previous school, Kiika outclassed every other girl with her beauty and sometimes  people asked her out, just like now.
By being a half-Japanese top student, she was looked by everyone as someone beyond their reach and usually approached and asked out by either idle guys or other top students.
However, nobody ever succeeded.
Kyouji was in her same committee and talked to her a little, just like he did with his classmates. Asking Kiika out is something that never crossed his mind.
Kiika suddenly raised her face and met Kyouji’s eyes. She shrugged her shoulder and forced a smile.
Whether or not she was interested into karaoke, he thought that in their previous school, even when she was invited by other girls, she usually said she would have been on a trip.
Perhaps, the whole being on a trip with her parents was simply a lie.
Knowing Kiika, it felt like that.
Kyouji raised his eyebrows and forced a smile back instead of saying “don’t get involved with troublesome guys”.
恭司

Kyouji
(…well, it’s fine like.)
He probably knew Kiika better than anybody else there. He felt like he became her accomplice. It was something only he could do.
Moreover, being “Kiika’s accomplice” didn’t sound bad at all.
