Rephonics

benben tsukumo yatsuhashi tsukumo

Requested by katsuragirin

Notes

“九十九憑くもの”, “Tsukumo possessed”.  Not sure if “possessed” fits enough, but I just hope it sounds enough “cool”.

hansha shite chiru oto
kokoro ga odoru naraba
taida de chiipu na
karada ga kogareru koto

Sounds reverberate and scatter
If your hearts are dancing
Your cheap, sloth
Bodies are yearning

utaeba utau hodo
kokoro wa tozakaru koto
sabita naifu ga
karada wo motomeru kara

The more you sing
The more your hearts gets distant
Because this rusted knife
Wants your bodies

kata ni tsuku mono
kokoro ga yowareru hodo
ochita namida ya
kotoba ga modoru naraba

Those possessed
To the point their heart can weaken
If tears already shed
And words said could come back…

aa, kairai ga ochiru oto
kokoro ga furueru oto
tatakitsukeru kodou
karada ga tokeru hodo

Ah, puppets make a falling sound
Hearts make a shivering sound
A striking throbbing
To the point your body loosens

utai kuruu hodo
kotoba ga odoru naraba
taida de shinshi na
kokoro ga todoku naraba

Singing to the point of maddening
As if words dance
As if your sloth, earnest hearts
Will reach you

kataritsugu hodo
kotoba ga muryoku naraba
nageki tsudzukete mo
karada wa koko ni aru kara

Even if words are powerless
To the point of being transmitted
Grieves goes on
Because your bodies are here

  1. Thank!
    A tricky title, i guess?

    • Well, it indeed is tricky. A lot of lyricists love to play around Touhou’s names, too bad most of the times it’s impossible to keep that in the translation…
      Hope you enjoyed it anyway!
